    When legal issues arise it can often be a stressful and difficult time in people's lives.  With that in mind, in addition to offering "traditional" legal services we also offer the options of mediation and collaborative law as alternative ways to put forth an effort to resolve legal disputes as amicably as possible, outside of Court, often thinking 'outside the box' for solutions acceptable to all.

 

     Mediation provides the opportunity for the parties to work together to resolve issues on their own with the help of a neutral mediator.  The mediator faciltates discussion and keeps the process as positive as possible.  Mediation is 'pay as you go' and no retainer is required.  Mediation is offered to help resolve issues in the areas of divorce, separation, custody, post-divorce, estate administration and probate. 

 

     Collaborative law provides a non-litigious approach to resolving issues pertaining to divorce, separation and post-divorce whereby each party retains his/her own collaboratively trained attorney. The parties pledge in writing to work toward an agreement in good faith without going to Court. Four-way meetings are held and neutral, collaboratively trained financial and mental health professionals are brought in as needed to assist in resolving issues.  A successfully resolved collaborative case will often result in lower overall costs and healthier communication between the parties when compared to the litigious "fight-it-out-in-court" route.
