    Karen P. Sampson

 

      Karen P. Sampson graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Albany in 1987 where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Computer Science.  After several years of working in the computer technology field she attended Rutgers University Law School where she earned a Juris Doctorate and Tax Honors with Distinction in 1996.  Since 1996 she has been licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. 

     Ms. Sampson interned at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and worked for an online legal research provider and other law firms prior to establishing this firm in 2003. 

     In 2005 Ms. Sampson successfully completed Mediation Training through New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education.  Since then she has successfully mediated many family matters.  She is a member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators.

     In 2010 Ms. Sampson became a collaboratively-trained attorney, having successfully completed Basic Interdisiplinary Collaborative Law Training through Practical Collaborative Solutions, LLC.  Ms. Sampson is an advocate of the collaborative process and recommends it to clients when appropriate.  She represents clients in collaborative divorce matters and believes the overall benefits the collaborative process provides to the divorcing couple and their families are significant when compared to litigious divorce.  Ms. Sampson is the President and a founding member of the South Jersey Collaborative Law Group.  She is also a founding member of the New Jersey Council of Collaborative Practice Groups and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

     Ms. Sampson is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Burlington County Bar Association and the Camden County Bar Association.

     For over 12 years Ms. Sampson has served as a member on her township's Land Development Board.  She has also served as a Land Development Board liaison member to her township's Environmental Advisory Committee and attended the Rutgers Environmental Stewards program.
